Ofsted Report

Please follow the link to our recent Ofsted report. We have officially been graded a Good school with Outstanding in two areas.

The Inspection team partiularly recognised the excellent opportunities that the school offers for children's personal development, such as:

  • opportunities for pupils to develop their talents and interests through extra-curricular clubs, chess club, sports clubs, keyboard lessons, Rock Steady and Deansbrook's Got Talent.
  • providing rich experiences in the curriculum, such as trips to a range of venues and inviting visitors to the school.

The report recognised the many positive elements of our school, particularly the excellent behaviour of our children, the provision for children with SEN, the range of extra-curricular clubs, the many educational visits to enhance learning and the broad curriculum across the school. It also revealed some areas for development and the school have been working hard to address these as quickly as possible. We are delighted that a recent school review, arranged to measure the impact of our post-Ofsted initiatives, graded the school as Good in all areas.

As has been publicised widely in the news, Ofsted's inspections had become a source of controversy. This led Ofsted to agree to significant changes. Ofsted inspected Deansbrook before these important changes were put in place. Indeed, our experience with Ofsted during and after their inspection revealed many of the problems that led to the publicity and subsequent changes. We are certain that when Ofsted do next inspect us, they will find a Good or Outstanding school.

We would strongly recommend that you visit our school so that you can see for yourself all the amazing work that takes place to offer children a stimulating and inspiring educational environment which enables them to reach their potential and gives them the skills to be life long learners. Please contact the school office to arrange a visit.
